KPS Wins Copper in Architecture Award!
Apr 30.2012
Keith Panel Systems has been recognized for its contribution to the Visitors Centre at the Britannia Beach Mining Museum with a 2011 North American Copper in Architecture Award. In the ‘New Construction’ category, the program’s goal is to identify those projects that have succeeded in blending various elements of copper use in a particular structure through design, installation, and innovation. KPS is proud to have played a key role in constructing this successful project.
The architectural façade of the new Visitor Centre features pre-patinated copper panels (75 percent recycled content) with a vibrant blue-green patina. The copper was installed with KPS System ‘A’ Pressure Equalized Rainscreen. The choice of material reflects the type of metal mined at Britannia Beach and the importance of sustainable use of natural resources to visitors.
