KPS nears completion of BC Place ring panels
Oct 12, 2010The original exposed concrete ring beam at BC Place has been brought back to life with the installation of 482 KPS System 'A' panels. The face sheet material is 4mm Alucobond in a Sunrise Silver Metallic finish.
The use of Alucobond in conjunction with the KPS propreitary free floating attachment mechanisms allowed the fabrication of large 5' x 10' panels without any concern over oil-canning. The panels span a circumference of over 2500 lineal feet. Using an innovative rolling stage developed by KPS, the installation proceeded efficiently and safely despite all of the access challenges. The successful installation has been a focus of admiration for all those invloved.
