Grand Coulee Dam Fire Station
Grand Coulee
Project info
In 2024, Keith Panel Systems completed a significant project for the US Bureau of Reclamation: a two-story, 21,000 SF facility designed to relocate the Grand Coulee Power Office Fire Department to a new, independent station. This facility, constructed with a blend of masonry and 2mm Weathering Steel, ensures robust and reliable protection for all Reclamation facilities and lands.
The 2mm Weathering Steel was chosen for its exceptional durability and distinctive aesthetic. Over time, this steel develops a unique rust-like patina that not only enhances its weather resistance but also gives the building a distinctive, timeless look. This natural weathering process helps the steel blend harmoniously with its surroundings, adding a layer of character and elegance to the facility.
Our MODUS Rainscreen Panel System was employed to support the weathering steel facade, providing effective moisture management and enhancing the building’s overall appearance. Designed by TCA, the project incorporates both historical materials and state-of-the-art technologies, including advanced security systems, to fortify vital national infrastructure at the Grand Coulee Dam.
The facility achieved LEED certification and met rigorous sustainability standards, with TCA working alongside Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) to develop a third-party verification process for US Bureau of Reclamation Guiding Principal conformance. Constructed by J.S. Held LLC, this 100-year facility stands as a testament to innovative design and commitment to excellence in national infrastructure
